ROMAN TOUR
The settlement of the VII Legion is a rectangle of 570 x 350 metres. The walls were built in different periods. The earliest fortification is a wall of opus caementicium with a rubblework exterior and an embankment on the inside. It must have been built at the end of the first century, soon after the legion's arrival.

JEWISH TOUR
In 1196 the Puente Castro quarter was razed and the Jewry was moved into the area of the city bounded by the Plaza Mayor, Santa Ana Square and the Plaza del Grano.

Many street names recall the area's commercial past, like Zapaterías (Shoemakers), Platerías (Silversmiths) and Azabachería (Jetworkers), but other old street names, such as Sinagoga (Synagogue), Moros (Moors) and Silvana have long been replaced by Misericordia, Santa Cruz and Puerta del Sol.

CLASIC AND MODER TOUR
Eight urban sculptures are a cultural testimony to some of the traditions, historical landmarks and famous people of León. Statues began to appear on the streets of León at the beginning of the 20th century, when the statue of Guzmán El Bueno (“The Good”) was set up in the square of the same name. Throughout the period, many pieces of sculpture were added to enhance the city and transmit a message to the citizens. Art, tradition and history imbue the most important monuments set up at strategic points and they do not go unnoticed.

A TOUR AROUND DECORATION AND PUBLIC HEALTH
Although public fountains began to appear in the 17th century during the reign of Charles III, the origins of the city of León's water supply go back to Roman times. The finding by archaeologists of an aqueduct, the work of the VII Gemina Legion and set up several kilometres to the north-east of their camp, told us a lot about how the Romans got their water.
